Everton will look to sign Sevilla sporting director Ramón Rodríguez Verdejo after suggestions that the Spaniard will seek new pastures, according to the Telegraph.
The former Sevilla goalkeeper is regarded as one of the better directors of football in the world and is widely recognised for his shrewd business in the transfer market. Monchi is also recognised as one of the key figures to Sevilla achieving an astonishing 9 trophies in 10 years.
Now, with the Toffees reportedly on the lookout for a director of football to bring new life to the club, Farhad Moshiri has set his sights on Monchi although the club face stern competition in the form of Manchester United.
One key factor in the possibility of a move to Merseyside for Monchi will be the future of Unai Emery. The manager has been linked with the Blues in recent weeks and some reports suggest that the club have set their sights on landing the highly regarded Sevilla man. Should Emery make the move to Merseyside, there is a good chance that Monchi would be happy to follow him and seek the challenge of taking Everton to the Champions League.

According to Marca, we could see some movement in terms of the future of Unai Emery as soon as tomorrow, with his release clause set to reduce €8million to €2million from June 1st.
Should the club manage to land both men, there is no doubt that Farhad Moshiri will be well placed to take the club towards the top of the table next season in which could be yet another extremely competitive league.
