Everton have backed last summer’s signing Josh Bowler to kick on and become a ‘game changer’ for the Toffees next season, according to the Liverpool Echo.
Bowler joined the Blues from Queens Park Rangers on a three-year deal last season, after making just one appearance for the R’s.
The 19-year-old is yet to make a first-team appearance at Goodison, playing his football with David Unsworth’s U23’s.

Unsworth says that the youngster struggled at first but improved greatly towards the end of the season.
Speaking to the Echo, the U23’s boss said:
You can see now the ability we saw, he came in and we had to get him up to speed and he struggled, we’ve got to say it how it is.
Bowler has since established himself in the U23’s side, showing the potential Everton knew he had.
He’s got himself in the team, he’s stayed in the team and though he’s nowhere near the finished article, you can see the quality and the skill, he’s a game-changer.
The winger will hope to continue to show what he can do in pre-season and maybe push for a place in the first team squad.
