Everton are one of many teams being linked with a move for midfielder Sean Clare, who is due to become a free agent, according to reports.
The 21-year-old has rejected the chance to extend his contract with Sheffield Wednesday and as such, he’ll become a free agent at the end of June.
It is reported that 14 clubs, including Cardiff City, Celtic, Leeds United and Rangers, as well as Everton, have held talks with Clare.

It was thought for a while that Clare was going to join Aston Villa but their financial issues mean they are no longer a viable option for the midfielder.
Clare started last season on loan at Gillingham but was recalled in January and was given a chance in the Owls’ first team. Wednesday want to keep hold of the youngster, but he’s already decided that his future lies elsewhere.
Celtic have apparently held talks with him over a possible deal, one which could be a relative bargain for the Scottish champions as the compensation that would need to be paid to Sheffield Wednesday would be a very small amount due to the lack of appearances he’s made in their first team.
