Matthew Pennington is set to join Leeds United on a season-long loan deal, according to Phil Hay of the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The move to Elland Road will be Pennington’s fourth loan spell away from Everton. He’s spent time at Tranmere Rovers, Coventry City and Walsall in the past.
The 22-year-old was forced into action a few times last season due to an injury crisis for the Blues and he played in a number of big games, including the Merseyside derby at Anfield, a game in which he scored, albeit in a losing effort for Everton.

With Ronald Koeman adding to his backline in the transfer window, opportunities for to Pennington to play regular football at Goodison Park in the upcoming season look limited, so it is no surprise to see him go out on loan.
He’ll now join a Leeds side that will be desperate to secure promotion back to the Premier League.
