Everton have been tracking a lot of Europe’s young talent over the course of the past year, and it appears as though Boris Mathis is the latest man to interest them.
According to leading French news outlet L’Equipe, as covered in a report by Sport Witness, Mathis is of serious interest to the Toffees and the possibility of a summer move is very much there.
The 19-year-old made just two appearances for Metz last season in Ligue 1 but has clearly caught the eye of many with some impressive performances at youth level.
Mathis, who originally came through Lyon’s academy before departing in 2015, is claimed to have not actually signed a professional deal with Metz yet, which is rather peculiar given that he is approaching his 20th birthday.
However, Everton’s interest is perceived to be serious by the French outlet and a move could very well be on the cards.
