Everton are interested in pursuing a summer move for Saint-Étienne defender Léo Lacroix, according to a Sport Witness exclusive.
Speculation in the last few days has seen the Toffees being linked with the 26-year old defender, who is on loan at Basel in his native Switzerland from the French club.
Everton were said to have been impressed by his performances this season, in particular his display against Manchester City in the Champions League, and were preparing a £7million offer in the summer.

Now, Sport Witness claim to have had confirmation from a source close to the player that the Blues are indeed interested and have been in contact, and that the Switzerland international would be keen on a move to Goodison Park should talks develop.
However, an issue could lie in his current loan deal with Basel, with the Swiss Super League champions having an option to buy in their deal with Saint-Étienne.
While the purchase clause is undisclosed, Basel could easily agree to sign Lacroix before selling him on for a sizeable profit, taking advantage of the cash rich Premier League club.
