According to Liverpool Echo, Everton are considering a move for Lazio defender Wesley Hoedt.
The report claims that Ronald Koeman has extensively scouted Hoedt and is weighing up an offer for the £12m-rated defender.
Premier League rivals Southampton are also said to be in talks with Lazio over a deal as they look to the future after Virgil Van Dijk.
The 23-year-old impressed in Serie A last season and has now attracted interest from the Premier League, with Everton looking to strengthen their defence.

The report claims that Koeman wants to bring in a left-sided defender who can play at centre-back or left-back.
This would alleviate the need to make two new additions, bringing in a player who can play multiple roles.
The Echo also claim that Everton are pushing through deals for Glyfi Sigurdsson and Olivier Giroud as they look to mount a challenge for the top-six this season.
