According to the Daily Mail, Everton are close to signing Sheffield United youngster Dominic Calvert-Lewin for a fee of around £1 million.
Calvert-Lewin, who spent half of last season on loan at League 2 champions Northampton Town, is a highly rated striker who notched eight goals in 26 appearances for the Cobblers last season. He returned to Sheffield United afterwards, where he failed to score in nine appearances in League 1.

Despite the Blades now being managed by Calvert-Lewin’s manager at Northampton, Chris Wilder, it looks like United will be forced to let the 19-year-old move to Goodison Park.
It is likely that Calvert-Lewin would link up with the Everton Under-21 side, joining Bassala Sambou and Chris Renshaw who have both been brought into the Everton youth setup this Summer.
He would also become Ronald Koeman’s second signing as Everton manager after the signing of Maarten Stekelenburg from Fulham last week. Axel Witsel, Morgan Schneiderlin, Juan Mata and Diego Alves have all been linked as the Dutchman begins to build his squad.
