Everton are one of three clubs battling it out to sign Ajax defender Jairo Riedewald.
According to Graeme Bailey of the Gambling Times, Everton and Southampton are ready to rival Crystal Palace for his signature.
This is despite Sky Sports claiming that Crystal Palace are set to agree a £8m deal to sign Jairo Riedewald.
Ajax’s director of football – former Arsenal midfielder – Marc Overmars is willing to let Reidewald go due to his lack of game time last season.

Reidewald was deployed in a holding midfield role, despite being known as more of a left-back or central defender.
The 20-year-old is expected to sign for Palace in the coming days and link up with his compatriot Frank De Boer for pre-season.
However, it appears as though Everton and Southampton have other ideas as they look to potentially hijack the deal.
Everton are expected to complete a move for right-back Cuco Martina on a free transfer from Southampton this week.
