Premier League clubs Everton and Tottenham Hotspur are battling for the signature of Portuguese midfielder Adrien Silva, with the Merseyside club submitting a €25 million bid for the player, according to a report on Sport Witness, who cite Portuguese outlet Record.
Silva is a player who is in demand this summer and it appeared as though Spurs were leading the pack for his signature.

But the Toffees have made a late arrival and quickly submitted a bid, which has been rejected by Silva’s club Sporting. However, the bid shows that the Goodison Park club are serious about the transfer.
Sporting have valued Silva at €30 million and won’t settle for any less so there is expected to be a bidding war between the two Premier League clubs.
The player is keen on a move to the Premier League and came close to joining Leicester City last summer but the move broke down so he will be desperate to ensure a move to the English top flight this summer goes smoothly.

The 28-year-old midfielder managed to get his name on the scoresheet four times last season in the Portuguese top flight which is impressive given that he is a more defensive player.
Silva loves to play quick passes into the feet of the striker and always looks for a forward pass to cut open an opposition defence.
Tottenham and Everton will both be looking to increase their offers for Silva and then the decision lies with the player about his next destination.
