Everton and Dortmund make bids for Barca’s Malcom – a good move?

Everton and Borussia Dortmund have both reportedly ‘approached the figure’ set by Barcelona for winger Malcom – but is it a good move by the Toffees?

That’s according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, cited by Sports Witness, who claim that the two sides are leading the way for the player who is surplus to requirements at the Nou Camp.

Barcelona are looking to receive a €50 million fee for the young Brazilian, 12 months on after signing the 22-year-old from French side Bordeaux.

Everton are desperate to bring in an attacking marquee signing ahead of the new season, with Juventus’ Moise Kean, Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha and Ajax’s David Neres all linked with big-money moves to Goodison Park in recent days.

Malcom could prove to be a risky signing by Marco Silva. The youngster, who has no previous Premier League experience, struggled to break into Barcelona’s side last season and worried Barca boss Ernesto Valverde due to his lack of consistency.

However, Arsenal and Tottenham have both been tracking the player in recent weeks, and he obviously has the talent to make it at the top level.

If Silva can get the best out of the wide man on a regular basis, a potential €50 million fee could turn out to be an excellent piece of business by the Merseyside outfit.

It appears as if the Toffees are willing to take the risk on Malcom, and a move could well gather pace over the coming days following the latest reports.
