Everton have agreed a £10million fee for Swansea City captain Ashley Williams, according to The Mirror.
Ronald Koeman is set to ramp up Everton’s activity in the summer window this week as his side return from Germany following their participation in the Dresden Cup.
The Dutchman is still looking to add to his first signing, Maarten Stekelenburg, who signed at the start of the month.
Williams, 31, has been a target for a number of top Premier League clubs over the past few years after putting in some consistently strong performances at the heart of The Swans’ and Wales’ defences.
The Welshman led Wales and shocked Europe as his side reached the semi-final of EURO 2016, where they were defeated by the eventual winners Portugal. He played in all six of Wales’ games during the tournament, scoring once, where his side were praised highly for their defensive performances.
With the possible departure of John Stones, Koeman will be looking for one or two more signings in the centre back position with club captain Phil Jagielka still struggling with a hamstring injury.
