Everton got back to winning ways after beating West Ham 2-0 at Goodison Park.
Bernard got the opening goal of the game in the first half, demonstrating superb footwork to slide past Roberto in goal for the Hammers.
Theo Walcott slid the ball through to Bernard in the box to beat the offside trap, and while the Brazilian looked to have wasted a good opportunity by turning inside instead of shooting first-time, the 27-year old jinked back towards the touchline before slotting at a tight angle.
Everton cranked up the pressure in the second half as they looked to finish the game off, and in the dying minutes, substitute Gylfi Sigurdsson took a slight touch to send Jack Wilshere packing before unleashing a thunderous strike to double the home side’s lead.
With West Ham not mounting much of a goal threat throughout the game, Jordan Pickford was left with little to do as Everton claimed all three points, giving Marco Silva a brief reprieve from the mounting pressure on his shoulders.
