I said at the time when Allardyce was appointed that I’d much rather have given it to Unsworth and I fully stand by that opinion. Allardyce and his brand of football are toxic and they need to be rid of as soon as possible, if that comes tomorrow or Summer I don’t really care.
And as much as I’ve avoided adding yet another target to Martina’s back, he needs to be out of the team as soon as possible. Along with Schneiderlin, he is one of the players that I’d recommend that we move on this January. And at risk of sounding like a broken record, I really don’t see how Klaassen isn’t as good as Schneiderlin.
West Brom are a very, very bad side, there’s no doubt about that. But that makes me very, very scared to think about what Everton are right now. We’re a side full of expensive mistakes with no sign of improvement and a backwards thinking manager firmly rooted in job security due to a gang of equally inept backroom staff and scouting system.
