Everton laboured to another draw against Southampton this afternoon as Roberto Martinez made several first team changes.
Kevin Mirallas returned to the side while Muhamed Besic, Darron Gibson, Bryan Oviedo, Leon Osman and Arouna Kone all featured in the game.
The Blues were second best throughout the majority of the game but actually took the lead through Ramiro Funes Mori. A half-cleared corner fell to the Argentine inside the box and after his original shot was blocked, his follow-up shot deflected into the Southampton net.
Southampton looked for the instant reply and found it through Sadio Mane, the ball falling to the Senegalese international three yards out who poked into the net under Joel Robles.
The Saints then looked for the winner and – having hit the woodwork twice in the game – felt they were able to do just that. Everton were able to defend the onslaught and see out a poor performance with a point.
