After an impressive first season at Goodison Park, it will come as no surprise to Everton fans that Idrissa Gueye is being eyed up by several top European sides.
According to the Mirror, the Senegalese midfielder is a summer target for Premier League rivals Arsenal and Manchester United and Spanish sides Sevilla and Valencia. Bundesliga duo RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen are also tracking the movements of the 27-year-old.
Since Gueye’s switch to Merseyside from Aston Villa last summer, the defensive midfielder has impressed the likes of Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho. The Arsenal boss has described his side’s defensive weaknesses in recent weeks, and the signing of the Everton star would certainly bolster his team in that area.

Ronald Koeman will be hoping to retain the man who has been key to his team this season. Gueye has been extremely effective in the defensive midfield role this season – shown by the fact he’s made more tackles than any other player in the league. The Senegalese international has also been compared to the man who has arguably performed the best in the Premier League this season, Chelsea’s N’Golo Kanté.
Although Everton will be keen to hold on to their talented midfielder, a significantly high sum may tempt the club to sell. However, it is clear that at the very minimum, he would only be allowed to leave for a fee which is at least double the £9,000,000 they originally signed him for.
