Everton have completed the signing of Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney on a permanent deal as Romelu Lukaku heads the other way.
Rooney will return to the club in which he began his career following a controversial exit from Goodison Park back in 2004.
Having fallen out of favour with manager Jose Mourinho, Wayne found his minutes on the pitch limited.
This prompted his decision to search for first team football elsewhere, with moves to China and the MLS previously mentioned.
Now, the player has chosen to make an emotional return to his boyhood club as he looks to take Everton into the Champions League in the future.
Rooney is set to be the highest-paid player at the club with wages reported to be in the region of £130,000-a-week.
The Englishman comes in as part of the deal to take Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United in a deal totalling £100m.
Manchester United will pay a total of £75m up front followed by £15m in add-ons depending on performance.
The other £10m comes from the inclusion of Wayne Rooney, who Man United valued at that fee.
