Seamus Coleman is set to miss Everton’s upcoming fixture with Watford as he looks to join loanee defender Eliaquim Mangala on the injury list, the Watford Observer reports.
The Irishman has only just come back from a double leg break and is set to again be out temporarily due to a recent thigh issue.
In comparison, it seems only a minor issue for Everton boss Sam Allardyce, as he fears that Mangala has played his last game for the Toffees after he was forced off in their last match against Crystal Palace.
However, Allardyce was reluctant to put a timeframe on a potential return amid speculation the Manchester City defender could prematurely end his stay at Goodison Park.
I think we’re taking a second opinion on what we have to try and achieve with Mangala. It’s a very difficult thing to assess just how long it’s going to take, whether it’s going to be longer than first predicted or not. It cannot be a certainty that it can be eight, 10, 12 weeks at this early stage. You have to judge it week by week.
But there is still some good news for Everton as Morgan Schneiderlin, who came off the bench against Palace. is set for a return. However, it will have to wait as he has had to return to France for a family matter.
Leighton Baines is set for his return to first team football for the first time since November following a calf injury.
Ramiro Funes Mori, who was out for nearly 12 months with a knee injury, is also advancing in his recovery. But as per Allardyce’s, request he will feature in the Under 23’s before making his return to the first team.
