Kevin Campbell has suggested that a solution to Theo Walcott’s Everton situation could be for him to play centrally.
The former England international got off to a great start at Goodison Park after trading London for Merseyside in January 2018, although his time with the Blues has quickly turned sour.
While the 30-year no longer gets in the starting line-up for the Toffees, he is also often criticised by the swathes of the fan base for his limited impact off the bench.

Former Everton and Arsenal forward Campbell believes that with so much competition in the squad, Walcott will need to constantly prove himself to Marco Silva in order to win a place in the line-up.
Talking to The Athletic (via Inside Futbol), Campbell also claimed that playing centrally go be the way to go for the former Gunner, especially considering Everton’s lack of goal threat this season. Campbell said:
I think he [Walcott] could be a solution centrally.
But football is a proving game. You have to constantly prove yourself and Theo will know he still has to do that.
He’s had no luck lately.
With Richarlison, Alex Iwobi and Bernard as well, Everton have a lot of quality players in the wide positions so when your chance comes, you’ve got to grab it.
I hope he can.

I’m not sure about playing Walcott centrally, if I’m honest. I always thought it was a strange move for Walcott when he was in his prime at Arsenal, and despite one really prolific season, it wasn’t really that successful for him.
Undoubtedly Walcott’s best years were out wide on the right, and if he can’t do that to the required level anymore for Everton, then it is safe to assume that starting him as a central forward wouldn’t work either.
Ultimately I think Theo is unfortunate, because Everton should have been the destination for him to rebuild his career. However, it hasn’t worked, and the only answer for him now is to move on and try again elsewhere.
