Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been discussing how he feels as though Everton are enjoying their football far more under Marco Silva due to his insistence on a creative style of play.
The Toffees came in for criticism in large periods of last season for their arguably unappealing brand of football, predominantly following the arrival of Sam Allardyce at the club.
However, Calvert-Lewin believes that a newly-discovered buzz has been implemented by Silva, with the attacking players now thriving under his management.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Calvert-Lewin hailed the influence of the former Watford boss following the team’s 3-1 Carabao Cup win against Rotherham.

There’s definitely a new buzz around Goodison. There’s a good vibe, all the players feel it. We’re keeping the football a lot better and the crowd are feeding off that. There’s a clear game plan and it’s to create creative, attacking football and to enjoy how we play.
Calvert-Lewin was handed the opportunity to impress during the Toffees’ win on Wednesday night and duly delivered, netting two decisive goals as Everton advanced through to the third round of the competition.
We’ve got a lot of belief in what we do. We want to get the ball down and play attacking, positive football. I think we’ll continue to do it going forward. The more work we do – the manager believes it, we believe it – we’ll only get better.
Cenk Tosun is likely to return to the starting line-up this weekend as Everton face Huddersfield Town in the Premier League. However, Calvert-Lewin’s performance will certainly provide Silva with some food for thought.
