Leighton Baines will take part in a behind-closed-doors friendly during the international break as he continues on his road back to full fitness, according to ESPN.
The England left-back hasn’t played a competitive game since the end of last season after he had surgery on an ankle injury. He was due to return earlier this season but re-injured himself during a training session in August.

The 30-year-old will be keen to back into action sooner rather than later as he’ll have his sights set on being part of Roy Hodgson’s England squad for Euro 2016, and the behind-closed-doors game will be the first step back for him.
According to the ESPN report, the former Wigan Athletic left-back will not feature for the Toffees when they face West Ham at the weekend, but there is hope that he could be fit for selection later on this month, if he can avoid any further setbacks.
