Everton will sign Swansea defender Ashley Williams in the next 48 hours, according to Wales Online.
It was rumoured over the past couple of days that a £10million bid had been accepted for the Welshman though news of a bid for Southampton’s Jose Fonte threw Evertonian’s off the trail of Williams.

Now, WalesOnline are confident that a deal has been reached and that the respected defender is set to make the move to Merseyside. It is likely that the 31-year-old will be brought in to replace the Manchester City-bound John Stones, who is likely to move for a record fee of £50million.
Williams was a part of the Welsh national team that impressed at Euro 2016 and were eventually beaten by winners Portugal. The defender played an integral part in their success, which will have caught the eye of Everton boss Ronald Koeman.
If the deal goes through, Williams will become the Toffees first major signing in the transfer window, while deals for Idrissa Gueye, Axel Witsel and William Carvalho are thought to be in discussions.
