- Arthur Atta has been compared to Zinedine Zidane and Jude Bellingham
- The midfielder is being linked with Fulham, Everton and Galatasaray
- The 23‑year‑old has scored five goals and provided three assists this season
Everton have been linked with a host of names ahead of the summer transfer window. Midfield has been assessed as a priority area to improve for David Moyes.
Idrissa Gana Gueye is approaching the end of his contract and David Moyes needs a young, dynamic option. One name that has recently been linked to Everton is Udinese’s Arthur Atta. The 23‑year‑old has attracted interest from Everton and Fulham, with Galatasaray also now in the race.
According to Turkish transfer pundit Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, Galatasaray are the latest club to have approached Udinese for the physically imposing midfielder.
Atta’s rise and Udinese’s high valuation
Atta came to Udinese in 2024 from FC Metz on loan, completing the transfer for €8m in 2025. This season, he has made 30 appearances with 27 starts, playing 2,383 minutes. He has scored five goals and provided three assists across Serie A and the Coppa Italia. He averages 1.8 shots and 1.1 key passes per game, with a passing accuracy of 83%. He has also created five big chances.
The midfielder had already attracted a winter bid from Fulham, which was rejected by the Italian club. TuttoSport reports that Fulham offered €20m plus €5m in bonuses in January, but Udinese were only prepared to accept €35‑40m for the player.
Udinese’s sporting director Gianluca Nani has previously compared Atta to Zinedine Zidane and Jude Bellingham, a high endorsement that explains the high asking price.
Is Arthur Atta required and fit to Everton?
Arthur Atta is described as a physically imposing presence in the middle of the pitch. He is comfortable on the ball. At 23, he fits the profile of a young midfielder with significant growth potential but comes with a high praise, previously compared to the great Zidane.
For Everton, the midfield requirement is clear. Gueye isn’t sure about the next season at Everton; options like Merlin Rohl and Tim Iroegbunam are still developing and have not impressed entirely despite recent good games. Atta would bring Serie A experience, physicality and technical ability. However, the €35‑40m price tag is massive for a player who has not yet proven himself in a top‑five league for a full season.
He might have all the potential, but this massive price comes with fulfilled potential. Udinese rejected Fulham’s €25m offer, indicating they are serious about their valuation, so a lesser fee than the €35‑40m price tag might not trigger a sale.
Everton may need to qualify for Europe to justify such an amount. If they do, Arthur Atta could be a statement signing, a young, talented midfielder with a high ceiling. But competition from Galatasaray and Fulham means the Toffees must act decisively and try to lower the price if there is any hope of a transfer.
The interest is real, and Arthur Atta is on the radar. Whether Everton meet Udinese’s demands will be one of the stories of the summer.
