Arouna Kone has been told that he can begin the process of looking for a new club as his contract with Everton will not be extended.
The 33-year-old’s current deal expires this summer and, unsurprisingly, Ronald Koeman has no intentions of offering him a new contract, so he will become a free agent.
As reported by Phil Kirkbride of the Liverpool Echo, Kone will be just one of a large number of players who will be allowed to leave Everton this summer as Koeman looks to build a squad which is good enough to compete for a place in the Champions League.

The Ivorian international has featured just seven times this year after suffering a knee injury and the Blues were actually willing to let him join Crystal Palace in January, but the deal collapsed, so it is no surprise that Koeman has deemed that he is surplus to requirements.
