Everton Under-21s have completed the signing of goalkeeper Zach Lee on a one-year contract running until the end of June 2027.
The young keeper, previously a free agent who’d spent time at Kendal, Wigan and Tranmere, has joined the Blues as part of the club’s continued work to strengthen its academy squads and provide a pathway for emerging players looking to progress towards senior football.
Lee becomes the latest addition to Paul Tait’s Under-21 group ahead of the 2026/27 campaign, with competition for places expected to be strong across the squad as Everton continue preparations for the new season.
The goalkeeper position has been an important area of focus for development clubs, with young players requiring regular opportunities and the right environment to continue improving. Everton’s academy has a history of producing players capable of making the step up to first-team football, and the club remains ever more committed to identifying talent at every level.
For Lee, the move represents an opportunity to continue his development within one of the Premier League’s established academy structures. Working alongside Everton’s coaching staff and other promising young players will give him the platform to improve his game and compete for regular involvement at Under-21 level.
The Blues have placed significant emphasis on youth development in recent seasons, with academy graduates continuing to play an important role in the club’s long-term plans.
Lee will now join up with his new team-mates as Everton’s Under-21 squad begins preparations for the season ahead.
