Jack Grealish update gives Everton renewed hope of permanent deal

Share
  • Jack Grealish was one of Everton’s best players in the 2025-26 season.
  • Huge miss for Toffees after suffering a season-ending injury in January.
  • After being on loan at the Blues, Grealish is approaching a return.

Jack Grealish has reignited his career at Everton. After moving to Manchester City in 2021, he helped them achieve the heights of marvellous treble in 2023, but as seasons went on, he fell out of favour and his playing time at the Etihad Stadium started to decrease.

But a loan move to Hill Dickinson Stadium last year has redirected him back on a promising path, with the winger becoming a fundamental cog in Everton’s attack.

David Moyes and Evertonians alike would love to see the England international return to Merseyside, and it appears their dream might come true.

Grealish will not be blocked by Manchester City

Grealish’s parent club, Manchester City, are facing huge changes this summer, with the legendary Pep Guardiola ending his time there, Enzo Maresca is the man tasked with taking the reins from the Spaniard.

Guardiola and Grealish did not always see eye-to-eye, and it was down to this that meant the ex-Aston Villa captain left City on a loan move.

But with the Spanish great now ending his time at the Etihad, there were suggestions that the 30-year-old winger could be given another shot at City, due to the change in manager.

However, it has reported that Maresca will not stand in the way of Grealish, should he want to play in a royal blue shirt next season, according to The i Paper.

Grealish can continue his momentum at Everton

After an upturn in performances during the 2025-26 campaign, it was only natural that rumours would circulate regarding Grealish’s future.

The 30-year-old demonstrated that he is still able to influence matches with a ball at his feet, so a return to playing at City would not be something to scoff at.

But Grealish has found his feet again because he is one of the main men at Everton.

He is given the freedom to dictate play, but also benefits by not playing in a team that expects perfection one hundred percent of the time – yet.

Life at the Hill Dickinson has, on the whole, been enjoyable for the winger, and it is expected that he will continue his time at the club that has given him a second shot at rebuilding his career.
