Transfer insider, Dean Jones, has dropped a claim regarding Everton target Mohammed Kudus and what the next summer window could hold for him.
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Jones had this to say on the matter. “He was class in the Champions League, and by next summer, it won’t just be a case that he is established in that Ajax team, but it might be a case that some bigger clubs are taking note too.”
The Merseyside club reportedly had a late summer transfer bid worth £15m rejected by Ajax for the 22-year-old.
In 50 senior appearances for the Dutch club, Kudus, who was recently hailed by journalist Owuraku Ampofo for a “ridiculous” pass he made during a game, has scored 10 goals and delivered five assists.
In fact, the Ghanaian has three goals to his name from his two previous league games, as well as scoring a goal and providing an assist in Ajax’s 4-0 win over Rangers in the Champions League.
To further highlight his attacking talent, with six attempts at goal to his name in the Eredivisie this season, four of them have been on target and three have led to him finding the back of the net.
This has given Kudus the highest rate of shots on target per 90 minutes (2.43) and goals per shot (0.50) at the Dutch club.
This shows just how much of a blow it has been for Everton to not sign the youngster when they had the chance.
Now that Jones has suggested that other clubs could be looking to sign the Ajax star once the next summer transfer window opens, this should be a big worry for the Toffees if they still want to bring Kudus to Goodison Park.
With that in mind, it could be worth Frank Lampard acting quickly and making another attempt to sign the attacker in the upcoming January transfer window.
