Everton are reportedly in the race, alongside Manchester United, to sign Atlético Madrid’s Kieran Trippier.
The Englishman joined the Spanish club from Tottenham back in 2019 for just under £20million.
During his time in Madrid, Trippier has enjoyed great success, winning the La Liga title at the end of this season.
The report from the Daily Mail suggests that Atlético are currently ‘strapped for cash’, and are looking to sell.
Manchester United fan account MUFCmpb cited the news on Twitter on Wednesday…

As impressive a player as Trippier is, it doesn’t make sense from an Everton perspective.
The club will be looking to replace ageing captain and right-back Seamus Coleman over the next couple of windows.
However, looking for a long-term replacement for a 32-year-old in a 30-year-old isn’t the smartest of moves.
Whether the club are looking at this as a quick fix to allow them more time to find the right player is unknown.
Despite previous reports, the club quashed their interest in Norwich City right-back Max Aarons.
The youngster became of interest of many other clubs, leaving Everton to look else where in the market.
Former Everton defender Michael Ball had suggested Real Betis’ Emerson as a strong replacement for Coleman.
Now it seems as though the Brazilian has made a return back to former club Barcelona.
It is likely that the club will wait to appoint a new manager before making any commitments in the transfer market.
