Everton signed French left-back Lucas Digne from Barcelona back in 2018 for just over £18million.
Since then, the 27-year-old has become an integral part of the club’s defence.
Playing under two different managers, Digne has always been a consistent performer for the Toffees.
So much so, that the Frenchman has been named as the highest rated left-back in the Premier League.
According to WhoScored, Digne has picked up the award for the third season in a row…
As cited by The Everton End on Twitter, Digne has outperformed his fellow left-backs again this season.
When you look at the stats, it isn’t hard to see why either.
From 30 Premier League games this season, Digne has managed 7 assists, as well as a fantastic defensive output.
The Frenchman won an average of 3.1 aerial duels per game, as well as 2.1 tackles and 2.4 clearances.
After his three seasons at Goodison, it is clear that the club managed a great deal in his signing.
It is a great accolade too, when you look at some of the other left-backs in the league.
The likes of Andy Robertson, Ben Chilwell, Luke Shaw, and Kieran Tierney are all incredibly talented players.
For Digne to rank above them all clearly shows he is in the conversation as one of the best in the world.
Everton are lucky to have a player like that in their defence and long may his form continue.
