Sheffield United have completed the eye-catching signing of former Everton man Jack Rodwell.
Chris Wilder has signed the English midfielder on a short-term deal until the end of the season.
Rodwell has been without a club since leaving Blackburn and he recently went on a trial with Italian giants Roma but missed out on a deal to join the Serie A side.
The former Everton youngster has now been handed a Premier League lifeline by Wilder as he looks to get back to his best.

It’s great to see Rodwell back in the Premier League and if he can get back to anywhere near his best under Wilder, he’ll be a fantastic addition to their squad.
Wilder has shown he’s not afraid to take a chance on players, having also signed Ravel Morrison over the summer.
Coming through the ranks at Everton, Rodwell was one of the country’s next big hopes but after continued injury problems and some questionable career choices, things haven’t always gone to plan for him.
Now back in the Premier League, he’ll be looking to make up for lost time.
