Everton are keeping tabs on Chris Smalling as they consider a swoop for the centre-back next summer.
According to The Mirror, Arsenal, Everton and Leicester are all interested in Smalling, who is impressing on loan at Roma this season.
Smalling joined Roma on loan from Manchester United over the summer and is now starting to attract interest from Premier League sides – including Everton.

Everton have struggled in the centre-back position this season and there is no doubting that they could do with an extra body at the back. Mason Holgate, Yerry Mina and Michael Keane are the club’s only senior centre-backs, with none of them particularly impressing this term.
However, can they afford to wait until the summer? Everton are only just above the relegation zone and could be forced to make a signing in the January transfer window, meaning that Smalling may not be needed by the time it gets to the summer. If Everton are able to sign a centre-back to improve their side in the coming window, their problems at the back could already be solved – leaving Leicester and Arsenal to fight it out for the signing of Smallin from Manchester United.
