Following on from the 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa on Friday night, there was more bad news for Everton as it was revealed that Jean-Philippe Gbamin‘s leg injury looks more serious than was first diagnosed.
The statement said:
Midfielder Jean-Philippe Gbamin has sustained a significant injury to his right quadriceps muscle.
The 23-year-old will undergo further investigation with the Club’s medical staff at USM Finch Farm this week.
These Everton fans, obviously, were gutted at the news.

Furthermore, Everton have started a little trend in recent weeks of giving ‘updates’ which aren’t exactly the most informative and that seemed to annoy these Evertonians.

Read Everton Verdict
Firstly, this trend of non-informative updates from Everton is quite strange and seems pointless. If there’s news to give, then give it. If there’s not, then don’t release an ‘update’.
Secondly, the loss of Gbamin is a big blow to the Toffees. Having sold Idrissa Gueye, Everton were relying on their new midfielder to make an immediate impact. The midfield looked a bit lightweight at Villa Park but the Blues will need to find a way to improve, even without their new signing, for however long he is out.
