According to a report from The Times, Joel and Avram Glazer, the owners of Manchester United, refused to sanction a move to allow defender Marcos Rojo to join Everton as they see the Blues as rivals for a top-four spot.
United are keen to get back into the Champions League and as such, they didn’t want to strengthen Everton, who they seemingly see as a rival.
The decision by the United owners is a huge compliment to Everton, but what do the fans of the Manchester club think about the comments? We’ve taken a look at the reaction.
These fans were keen to vent their anger at the Glazers.
This is actually so dumb I refuse to believe it. No fucking way they made such a decision. Don't even want to consider this as true for one second.

These fans, clearly not big admirers of Rojo, suggested that if Everton are seen as rivals, then the Glazers should have allowed the Argentinian to move to Goodison Park as he would make the Blues a poorer team.
lol they aren’t a rival for top 4 but if they were Rojo would weaken them

I don't know what's more funny , seeing Everton as a rival for top four , or blocking a washed up Rojo to move away

😂😂😂😂 surely if they believed that then they'd send him there its Rojo we're talking about

Shows how little they know about football. This would have helped united's cause as he's absolutely awful……

Read Everton verdict
Everton still look a player or two short in defence and it seems obvious that they saw Rojo as a good addition to the squad. However, the move didn’t go through and with Kurt Zouma returning at Chelsea and, Phl Jagielka now at Sheffield United, the Blues do lack some depth at the back.
Rojo’s performances for United have been up and down and maybe the deal falling through could be seen as a blessing in disguise? Time will tell.
