Jarrod Bowen would be an excellent signing by Everton, following reports linking him with a switch to Goodison Park.
According to Football League World, via the Hull Daily Mail, Everton are “contemplating a move” for the 22-year-old, along with Southampton.
Bowen enjoyed a superb season with Hull City in the Championship, scoring 22 goals in 46 appearances.
Considering he is far from an out-and-out striker – he invariably plays out wide – those statistics are even more eye-catching.
His form has alerted the Toffees, with Marco Silva reportedly keen on taking him to the club.
The pair worked together during Silva’s Hull days, so he knows exactly what the Englishman can bring to the table.
Although Bowen wouldn’t necessarily go straight into Everton’s team as a key man, his potential is obvious.
Everton are also a club famed for having exciting British players in their ranks, and it would be a shame if they moved away from that model.
There would be no guaranteeing that Bowen would handle the step up to the Premier League seamlessly, but it is a move that makes sense for various reasons.
