Everton have reportedly stepped up their interest in Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, with the club’s chief scout taking a look at the player in action.
A report from the Liverpool Echo reveals that Martyn Glover was recently sent on a scouting mission to watch the player for Lyon.
After impressing in Ligue 1, Ndombele has emerged as a transfer target for a host of clubs, including Manchester City and Barcelona.
Both teams are said to be planning moves to sign the powerful Frenchman, with each club looking to strengthen in midfield.

Lyon are now inline to make a huge profit on the player that they signed permanently only this summer.
Having originally joined on loan from Amiens, Lyon spent €8 million to bring him to the club permanently.
The report claims that the midfielder is now worth a reported £40 million in the current market.
Everton will hope the lure of guaranteed first-team football will boost their chances of beating both City and Barcelona to his signature.
