David Bates is making a name for himself in Germany.
The 22-year-old central defender is in the early stages of his first season with Hamburger SV in 2. Bundesliga, and has helped his team to six clean sheets in eight appearances.
Everton’s interest was reported over the weekend, but it has now emerged that Bayern Munich have also taken note of the former Rangers defender.
TeamTalk claim the German champions have instructed individuals to keep tabs on the Scottish U21 star, who must surely be in line for a senior Scotland cap soon.

It doesn’t stop there, however. Borussia Dortmund are also said to be keen on the Kirkcaldy-native, who is also coveted by a number of Premier League clubs.
Leicester City, Arsenal, Watford, and Southampton are all said to be among the top-flight English sides hoping to land Bates, who is generating a considerable amount of hype.
Quitting Rangers for Hamburger at the end of last season, Bates is now at the fifth club in his short professional career – so don’t rule out another switch soon.
