Everton are exploring a number of different options in their attempt to sign Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney.
According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United are going to have to make a compromise in order for the deal to go through.
Everton are unwilling to match his mammoth wages as well as paying a large transfer fee.
This means that the two clubs are having to thrash out a deal that is best for all parties involved.

The report claims that one option would be Manchester United paying out the remainder of Rooney’s contract, allowing him to join Everton on a free transfer.
The alternative is that Everton take Rooney on a season-long loan, with the two clubs sharing his wages.
Rooney is said to be on £230k-per-week and confirmed earlier this summer that Everton would be the only club he would leave Manchester United for.
This is despite being linked with big money moves to China and the MLS.
