Everton are interested in signing Danish striker Nicolai Jørgensen, according to Danish newspaper BT, as cited in the Liverpool Echo.
According to BT, Ronald Koeman is keen to raid his old club of Feyenoord in order to strengthen Everton’s striking options ahead of a busy season to come.
Jørgensen, who was last season’s Eredivisie top goalscorer, scored 21 goals in 32 game for the Rotterdam based club, as they beat out Ajax to the Dutch league title.
Everton are in need of striking reinforcements this summer with Arouna Koné and Enner Valencia both having departed the club, and with Romelu Lukaku’s future looking uncertain, Jørgensen’s purchase would certainly give the Toffees more faith with their opening Europe League qualifying game not far off.
The 26-year old Denmark international is not the first Dane to be linked with a move to Merseyside this summer, with fellow compatriot Kasper Dolberg also a known target for the Blues.
Jørgensen would cost the club €20million (£17.6million) if they decide to follow up on their interest.
