Everton are on the verge of signing AC Milan defender Gustavo Gomez after the Serie A giants confirmed that they are willing to sell him to the Merseyside club, according to a report on TalkSPORT.
Reports in Italy are suggesting that representatives of the Merseyside club have been to Milan to discuss the transfer of defender Gomez in an attempt to lure him to the Premier League.
The 24-year-old has only spent one season with AC Milan after joining them last summer, but the club are ready to sell the player with the aim to recover the £7 million they spent to bring him to the San Siro.
Gomez made 19 appearances in all competitions for AC Milan last season and Toffees boss Ronald Koeman is expected to make a final decision on whether to sign the defender or not.

The Paraguay International made three appearances in the Copa America tournament and was impressive, resulting in a few clubs monitoring his situation. And it is Everton who have emerged as the most serious suitors as Koeman looks to add depth to his defensive unit.
