Everton are enquiring about yet another Italy-based player in Fiorentina’s Josip Iličić, according to Florence-based newspaper Corriere Fiorentino, as cited by Sport Witness.
Steve Walsh and scout Carlo Jacomuzzi were spotted amongst an Everton delegation in Milan yesterday, who were due to meet both Inter Milan and AC Milan to discuss a number of players.
Jacomuzzi also reportedly told Radio CRC in Italy that they were there to talk to a few other clubs regarding potential summer incomings as well.
He claimed that as well as the Milan clubs, talks with both Napoli and Fiorentina were also scheduled, with other sources also claiming that talks with Juventus were due too.
Today, Corriere Fiorentino in Florence are claiming that Everton met with La Viola to discuss Slovenia international Josip Iličić ahead of a potential move, with the delegation having booked an appointment with Fiorentina Director of Football, Pantaleo Corvino.
The 29-year old has been linked with the Toffees before, back in late 2014, and could now look at the Premier League as a new opportunity.
Despite a less than fruitful season than in 2015/16, the attacking midfielder scored six goals in all competitions, registering a further five assists for La Viola.
Iličić is reportedly available for as little as €7million (£6.1million) according to Tutto Mercato Web, with just one year left on his current deal with the Serie A club, and Ronald Koeman could well view Iličić as the perfect squad player, ahead of a busy campaign for the upcoming season.
