Dominic Calvert-Lewin has become only the third England player to score in a World Cup final, and the first since Geoff Hurst in 1966.
The Everton man scored the only goal against Venezuela in the Under-20 World Cup final, smartly slotting home after his initial shot was saved, as England won their first World Cup title in 51 years.
It was the 20-year old’s second goal of the tournament, where he, along with fellow Everton teammate Ademola Lookman, starred up front for the young Three Lions.
There was further Everton involvement through Jonjoe Kenny and Kieran Dowell, with U23 Everton manager David Unsworth sure to be proud of his young Blues’ success.
It tops off a breakthrough year for Calvert-Lewin, who joined the Toffees from Sheffield United in the summer.
DCL made his debut as a substitute against Arsenal in December, scoring his first goal for the club in a 4-0 routing of Hull in March.
Calvert-Lewin made 11 appearances in all competitions for Everton in 2016/17, scoring one goal.
