Everton are interested in signing Saint Etienne’s French goalkeeper Stephane Ruffier as manager Ronald Koeman looks to solve the goalkeeping problem at Goodison Park, according to a report from Le10 Sport, cited on Sport Witness.
The 30-year-old shot-stopper kept 11 clean sheets in Ligue 1 this season to help his side eighth-placed finish and was impressive in their Europa League campaign.

Everton boss Ronald Koeman has found it difficult to choose between current goalkeepers Joel Robles and Maarten Stekelenburg, with both being unconvincing at times during the Premier League season.
This has resulted in the Toffees’ manager looking to bring a new goalkeeper to Goodison Park and it is reported that Ruffier is the man that he is targeting.
Ruffier’s performances first caught the eye of Koeman earlier in the season which led the manager to track his progress throughout the season. Koeman is reportedly now ready to make a move for the talented shot-stopper.
With Everton aiming to push for a top four spot next season, it is crucial that they have stability at the back and in Ruffier, they will have this. The Frenchman has appeared for the French National side three times so will bring experience to a young Everton dressing room.
