Two goals in quick succession will cast out memories of what was an appalling display for the first 70 minutes. We were sloppy in possession and all around dreadful in every regard.
Too many players were letting the game drift by and failing to make any considerable impact, a worryingly common theme this season. However, usually it was one or two players, But this time, the whole team was acting entitled. As though without performing, they had a right to beat Burnley. So what, now you’ve won a few you’ve decided you’re allowed to win without working? Come off it. Nobody is entitled to anything in the Premier League, and that would be something I’d hope Koeman will let them know.
So that’s the negativity, and unsurprisingly this time, there’s not much to look back favourably on.
Robles had given away a penalty, so there’s the thing people will remember about his game, not his excellent save early on, so I think if I say anything nice about him I’ll be killed. Regardless, he was largely solid. Sharpshooter Jags was back at it and was once again phenomenal, while Leighton Baines had another great game.
Anyway, I have like 11 slides for this so read on…
