After that crushing late equaliser at Manchester United, Ronald Koeman’s side needed a big reaction against Leicester and they got it.
Tom Davies opened the scoring inside the first minute after an electric start, but the defending Premier League champions levelled it less than three minutes later through Islam Slimani before Marc Albrighton’s free-kick looped in over Joel Robles to give the Foxes the lead after 10 minutes.
The first half saw a fourth goal when a pin-point accurate Ross Barkley cross was headed home by Romelu Lukaku and a fifth followed soon after when Phil Jagielka gave Everton the lead again from a corner.
Koeman’s boys dominated the second half for large periods and Lukaku put the game out of sight with his 23rd of the season.
