The most terrifying game of the season is coming up and we have four first team players injured for the occasion, as is tradition!
We’ve never coped well in these games anyway, so adding the injuries to the equation is practically unfair, seeing as Liverpool could probably play their Under-8 side and win 4-0!
But going to that place now, with us in such good form, allows for dangerous optimism and as you’ve learned with Everton, optimism always ends in misery. This will likely be no different.
We go in after a real purple patch that has got us battling with with Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City rather than West Brom, Stoke and Southampton. Ronald Koeman has transformed the side that Roberto Martinez left with not a lot of first-team players brought in that weren’t here before – Williams, Gueye and Schneiderlin being the exceptions.
But the real difference has been the tremendous impact of the youth of Everton, and there is no better time to show just how good they are than at Anfield.
