Going into the game, we were on a good run of form with some decent away results in there. But Spurs were just too good for us. No shame in losing like that.
We started the game very, very well with Gana and Davies looking great, and the defence was solid. That all changed though when Harry Kane blasted one past Robles’ near post, when both he and Barry should have done better. That was a common theme sadly after Kane’s opener, most of the defence and Barry fell off a cliff with Baines and Mori being the main culprits. We somehow endured an immense salvo to get into the dressing room at 1-0.
Then all changed as Robles ended all hopes we had of taking a point as the second half was scarily similar to the first. We started alright but Spurs brought a shotgun to a fist fight. It took any wind out of our sails as we were consigned to our first defeat in 10.
Alli got a third after we pulled one back, we added a second but it was too little too late.
Ronald Koeman has some questions to answer today regarding substitutions, or lack thereof, as any change was left way too late to make a difference.
On to the next one, a real shame as we could have made a statement there today. Sack the back 4 and the short set-pieces, onwards we go.
