Not only was that probably the most impressive i’ve seen us play for many, many years, it was with a team ripe with young talent.
But above all else stood Tom Davies, who lived every Evertonian’s dream by scoring at the Gwladys, then proceeding to jump in with the fans.
But it wasn’t only Tom, it was the debut of both Morgan Schneiderlin and Ademola Lookman, with the latter having a game that he’ll never forget. Every single player out there today was absolutely exceptional, bar none. Although he had an early exit, Kevin Mirallas deserves massive praise. He hassled as usual, but his quality that we have long missed flourished today, on a day we needed him.
Anyway, I can’t go without mentioning the ridiculous atmosphere today, all throughout, but after Davies netted his first Everton goal and sprinted into the crowd… well.
Ratings. Slightly arbitrary today, but all merited.
