The Frenchman has been the subject of interest for Everton after it was seen he would have no future under United manager Jose Mourinho. The player duly told the Portuguese manager that he would like to leave the club, green lighting the Toffee’s pursuit.
Both Everton and West Bromwich Albion are interested in signing the midfielder, with the Baggies also having a rejected bid thought to be £18m. It is up to the player to choose his destination though reports suggest that the club feel he would prefer to link up with former boss Ronald Koeman who managed him in his final season at Southampton.
The Red Devil’s are looking to recoup almost all of the £24m that they spent on Schneiderlin, but it remains to be seen whether Everton will match that or look elsewhere.
Regardless, there is a growing feeling among media and fans that Schneiderlin will soon arrive on Merseyside.
