In an unexpected turn of events, Everton manager Ronald Koeman has suggested that Romelu Lukaku should leave the club if he is to reach his full potential.
The Belgian striker is Everton’s top scorer in each of the three full seasons he’s spent at the club and is currently their leading marksman this term with seven goals in 10 Premier League appearances.
At 23, his best years are still ahead of him and Ronald Koeman believes he can emulate the success of former Barcelona striker and Netherlands legend Patrick Kluivert.

“I think he can emulate Patrick Kluivert, who also rose to prominence at a young age and enjoyed a fantastic career,” Koeman told Dutch newspaper HLN.
However, Koeman went on to hint that Lukaku should not settle for playing for Everton and that he should use the club as a stepping stone to bigger and better things later in his career.
“He [Kluivert] eventually played for Barcelona and I can see Lukaku doing the same.
“Everton should normally not be the end for him. Romelu will not have made the most of his career if he plays for Everton for the remainder of his career.”

Koeman finished by saying the former Chelsea striker has the potential to play for a bigger club than Everton but he doesn’t know whether Lukaku will leave at the end of the season.
“He has the potential to play for a bigger club than Everton, but nobody knows what will happen after this season.”
The likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and former club Chelsea have been linked with moves to sign Lukaku of late but it’s believed that any deal would cost in excess of £65m.
