The Welshman has been the subject of interest from the Toffees as Ronald Koeman looks to bolster his defence after John Stones’ move to Manchester City was officially announced.

With £47million being brought in from the sale of Stones, Everton will now spend £10million of that on Williams with Sunderland’s Lamine Kone also being linked with a move to Merseyside.
With Phil Jagielka coming back from injury and Ramiro Funes Mori now the clubs only fit central defender, Everton will need to move quick to get defensive reinforcements in before their opening Premier League game against Spurs on Saturday.
After the central defensive position is filled, it is likely that Koeman will move onto other targets, with central midfield also said to be a position the Dutchman wants to enforce.
Players such as Juan Mata, Axel Witsel and Williams Carvalho have all been linked with the club in recent months.
